Here are the top new features in HPD Paper Chart Editor 3.2
Product creation from multiple source usages
Paper charts and vector products can now be created from several usages. This allows for greater flexibility in organizing source data and for taking full advantages of the new user group and data access controls. The Properties window now lists source usages from which the product was populated. The History window will also show source usage information. The compare-product-to-source process now groups changes based on source usage.
New raster chart comparison and change detection tools
HPD 3.1 stores a single set of raster layers for a chart, thus saving database space and reducing the chart loading time. New methods allow you to compare a raster chart to another raster chart, or to a set of external raster files. The results are shown as change cells which can now be easily reviewed by type or by layer, or exported to TIFF files.
New raster tools
New tools are now available to control image masking for external raster images, including a new Colour Picker option, with improved masking settings.
Edit chart panel boundaries while maintaining existing panel content
A new Boundary sub-layer stores panel information and allows limits to be modified without affecting existing panel data. New functionality lets you recut panel data from source to match the new extents of the panel without having to remove data beforehand.
New visual comparison tools for viewing different datasets
Flicker and Swipe tools allow you to examine database layers and external data sources simultaneously in the Display window. These tools can be invoked anytime and greatly enhance the data-compilation experience.
Expanded support for displaying GIS Web services
An easier method to set HTTP values for GIS Web Services is now available. The values can be changed on-the-fly without having to restart an HPD editor. Supported formats include:
Web Map Service (WMS)
Web Map Tile Service (WMTS)
Tile Map Service (TMS)
Web Coverage Service (WCS)
Enhanced Compression Wavelet (ECW)
Standalone charts in Paper Chart Editor
Paper Chart Editor can create, update and export standalone charts.
Export panel features to HOB
Selected panel content can be exported to HOB files.
Create marginalia from chart and panel properties
Chart marginalia can now be derived directly from the current chart and panel properties, thus saving time and reducing the chances of making mistakes. Trim marks can also be added when the sheet is exported.
Support for ICC colour profiles
HPD Paper Chart Editor includes support for ICC (www.color.org) colour profiles which are used to standardize colour definitions and exchanges between various systems and devices. This allows greater accuracy in reproducing colours from one device to the next. Third-party applications that can use colour profiles can also benefit from this and render the original chart colours more accurately.
