Conformance to Standards

HOM AML has been designed around the IHO S-57 standard, and includes tools to address every facet of AML production. Datasets can be output to create NATO compliant S-57 AML's.

Ease of Use

Functionality has been incorporated into HOM AML to address the intricacies of the S-57 AML specifications. Users can concentrate on production. Among these are advanced data filtering and geometric analysis tools, ability to view raster backdrops, push-button creation of feature objects, and exchange set wizards.

Full automation of quality control and quality assurance procedures is possible while the software is flexible enough to allow the user to take the lead, giving users absolute confidence throughout their workflow.

Interoperability

HOM AML is fully interoperative with the full range of other CARIS software solutions. This includes survey processing and completion (HIPS and Notebook), contouring and sounding selection (BASE Editor), nautical paper chart production (GIS), raster nautical chart production (RNC), as well as the new Hydrographic Production Database (HPD).

The import, conversion and export of data in many foreign file formats is supported through easy to use wizards and tools. Data for HOM AML can also be imported easily from VPF and exchanged with CARIS DOM AML.

Customizable

HOM AML allows users to customize different aspects of their AML production workflow. This includes the ability to use a simple interface to run batch processes; to modify and extend the default S-57 object and attribute catalogue; and to customize the quality control checks used to validate AML data in HOM AML.
