The multi-user management environment of the CPD Source Editor allows multiple users across the network, or over the Internet, to work with the same centralized repository. There is no need to have CPD users each working independently with their own copy of the data. This eliminates the risk of versioning problems, the hassle of multiple archiving mechanisms and adherence to standards.

Once your organizations data catalogue has been formalized, the CPD Source Editor is there to ensure that standards are maintained. This is accomplished through the use of templates to make it easy for technicians to create objects. It also includes a wide variety of validation tools to ensure data integrity, an independent certification process designed to enhance data quality assurance and data locking that ensures data capture and maintenance, within a workspace, is limited to a single user.

The user-friendly nature of the CPD Source Editor makes it accessible to most staff regardless of their level of expertise. Tool bars can be configured to meet the end-users functional level. In addition, all commands can be reduced to user-defined shortcut keys further simplifying the use of the application.

Features such as full unit support for metric and imperial systems as well as on-the-fly reprojection allow the CPD Source Editor to meet your needs. In addition, the application supports a wide range of GIS, CAD and image formats that can be used as backdrops or as a data source for inclusion into the CPD database. These include: GeoTIFF, MrSID®, TIFF, TFW, IGA, CARIS, DWG, DXF, DGN, MID/MIF, Shapefiles and geospatial point data from ODBC databases.
