The Geology plug-in for Carta is the next generation of geological mapping software from CARIS.
The Geology plug-in incorporates a set of tools tailored to meet the special needs in geological
mapping. The software significantly enhances the effectiveness of the core Carta as a tool set
foundation for the geologists and earth scientist.
With the ability to create geological map files by reading in different GIS formats in their native
language, these tools offer an effective solution to the challenges in combining adjacent small-scale
geological maps from disparate sources.
Structure Symbols
CARIS Geology plug-in allows users to readily toggle between Dip/Dip and Strike/Dip mode when adding
geological symbols to the map in Carta. Geological structure symbols are an integrated part of the
geology plug-in.
Hundreds of Symbols and Styles
Geology users will enjoy a robust symbol library. The library has been rationalized for improved
simplicity and contains hundreds of common geological and topographic map symbols; special attention
has been given to clarify the designation and input of oriented symbols that include text
(e.g. strike and dip symbols).
