CARIS and CIDCO Partnership Benefits the Marine Community of Quebec

Fredericton, NB, Canada - June 30, 2010 - CARIS and CIDCO (Interdisciplinary Center for the Development of Ocean Mapping), two Canadian organizations with expertise in marine geomatics officially announced an important partnership at the Canadian Hydrographic Conference 2010 in Quebec City.
CARIS as a leading developer of marine GIS software, and CIDCO as a research and transfer specialist in the fields of hydrographic data collection, data processing, and dissemination, aim to help in the economical development of Quebec's maritime region by providing the best solutions possible.
CARIS will receive expert feedback from trained specialists at CIDCO, while CIDCO's prospective clients will gain from access to the most advanced and comprehensive suite of marine GIS software available.
Both organizations, along with their clients, have already started benefiting from this partnership. New innovative projects with Groupe Trifide and Nippour Geomatik have been generated. Another example of the benefits of this collaboration has been the joint R&D project between CARIS and CIDCO awarded by the National Research Council of Canada for the validation of uncertainty models (TPU) for interferometric sidescan sonars.
CARIS and CIDCO will continue to work together to assist in the development of Quebec's maritime region.
