CARIS' José Arias (far left) pictured with Fugro Brasil staff members during a recent HIPS and SIPS training course.Fugro Brasil recently undertook training on the latest hydrographic data processing techniques with CARIS. Staff members, who came from diverse backgrounds in hydrography, geophysics and GIS, took part in a week-long training course in Macaé, Brasil using the latest release of CARIS HIPS™ and SIPS™.

The training course consisted of workflows for processing bathymetry, backscatter, side scan and water column data. The training was well received with participants employing the new tools available in HIPS and SIPS 9.0. Fugro Brasil will utilize parts of HIPS and SIPS, in particular the water column tools and new AUV processing functions, for projects in the region.
