CARIS Calendar Contest 2017

For Immediate Release

Fredericton, NB, Canada – September 23, 2016 – Teledyne CARIS’ popular calendar contest is back for its 12th year in a row. Beginning this year, we have made the decision to produce a digital version of the calendar. We realize the old format has become tradition to many and we will miss it too, however we felt it was time for a new approach.

Moving forward with the digital calendar, we will be able to direct more focus on you, the CARIS™ software user. Each month’s winner will become the ‘CARIS Software User of the Month’. Your winning image will be profiled on our website and will be available for download as part of our month-by-month 2017 calendar. It will be circulated around the user community via social media and reach thousands of other CARIS users through promotion in our monthly newsletter, Coastlines.

As an added bonus, due to our new format, we will now be able to accept video submissions!

Rounding out the calendar competition, is the chance to win a fabulous prize: a DJI Phantom 3 drone. As well, in conjunction with the new face of the CARIS 2017 Calendar, we will be donating a portion of the cost associated with annual shipping to a local charity. Watch out in Coastlines for more on that initiative.

Submissions will be limited to four entries per author/email address. If multiple images are submitted from different views of the same dataset, we reserve the right to limit the entry for voting to the image deemed to have the best quality.

We are accepting submissions now, so get yours in today!

Submission Deadline:  October 7, 2016

Winners to be Featured in 2017 Calendar

Once the polls close, the twelve submissions with the highest number of votes will win a coveted spot in the 2017 Teledyne CARIS™ Digital Calendar. In addition, our in-house judges will choose two submissions to be included along with the fan favourites. All winning images will be featured on the Teledyne CARIS website and will be displayed proudly on our social media outlets, gaining some well-deserved, global recognition.

Even more exciting - the submission which receives the highest number of votes will be the recipient of a DJI Phantom 3 drone, featuring a built in camera which shoots 2.7K HD video and 12 Megapixel photos, is equipped with automatic flight assistant, and has live GPS.

Vote for the Winners

Via the Teledyne CARIS Facebook Page, CARIS software users, friends and family will be the judges of the contest by voting for their favourite submission. Voting polls will be open from October 20 to November 3, 2016. Complete contest rules can be found on the contest website.
