Oceanology International (Oi) 2016 was once again a very successful event. Oi is a great opportunity to connect with the global marine science and ocean technology community on a large scale.

Our CARIS team showcased the many capabilities of CARIS products to both new and existing partners alike. The timing of Oi was exciting as it coincided with the release of CARIS HIPS and SIPS™ 9.1 , which introduced the new SIPS Backscatter engine. Also highlighted by our staff was the vertical feature modeling capabilities of the Engineering Analysis Module (EAM) and, of most interest to attendees was the near real-time survey demonstration using CARIS Onboard as it streamed RESON T50p multibeam data from the Teledyne RESON demo boat.

The CARIS team was very happy with its custom built display booth. It featured some awesome images from our clients, three dedicated demo stations and plenty of seating at the bar to relax at the end of a busy day. It was a great space to network and highlight our products to the industry. We look forward to attending Oi in China later this year and the US in 2017.
