Keynote Address – Dr. Ehlers
CARIS was pleased to have Dr. Ehlers as t he Keynote Speaker at CARIS 2004. He addressed the CARIS users during the Opening Session of CARIS 2004 on Wednesday 24 November 2004.

About Dr. Ehlers Dr. Ehlers is the current President of the German Federal Maritime & Hydrographic Agency (BSH). He was also the official German representative at the IHO and IOC and was Chairman of the IHO-WEND Committee until 2002.

A former Chairman of the Helsinki Commission, Dr. Ehlers remains a board member of several marine scientific institutions as well as Professor of Law at Hamburg University. He is editor and author of numerous publications on maritime issues.
