This image was produced from data collected on a Geoscience Australia survey to investigate key marine environments of Australia's eastern margin. Gifford Guyot is a 15 million year old, 2500 metre high, flat-topped seamount, and is one of 30 large seamounts that make up the Lord Howe Rise seamount chain. This is the first seamount in Australia to be mapped on such detail.
